About September’s Wellbeing Theme: Strength

Here’s Your Admin Strategy Guide for September 2025

Traditional Definition of Strength: The quality or state of being physically strong.

How We’re Thinking About It: The ability to face challenges, bounce back, and keep growing by combining determination with rest, openness, and support from others.

Why Strength Matters at Work

Every company wants strong performance and a strong team. But strength isn’t a fixed trait; it’s a process of development. Think about building muscle: the body gets stronger through consistent effort, overcoming resistance, and recovery. Similarly, building a strong workplace is about developing the capacity to handle challenges, recover, and keep moving forward.

Strength is both personal and collective. A strong team thrives when employees are empowered to grow, fail, and challenge each other. This requires a culture of psychological safety, where people can be vulnerable, admit when they don’t know something, and ask for support.

True strength isn’t avoiding weakness or failure. It’s building resilience, facing the unknown, and overcoming challenges together.

Bringing the Theme to Life

  • 💪 Strengths-Based Management
Research shows that when employees align their work with their natural strengths, both performance and job satisfaction increase. Encourage managers to learn their teams’ strengths and align tasks accordingly.

  • 🔄 Reframe Failure
Normalize failure as part of growth by hosting “Lessons Learned” sessions where employees share takeaways from setbacks and discuss improvements.

  • 🤝 Create Mentorship or Peer Support Programs
Pair employees with mentors or support partners to foster growth and resilience. Not ready for a full program? Host small, practical mentoring meetups (like “Lunch & Learns”) where employees can learn from each other.

Strength means more than just pushing through. When we talk about strength, we often picture grit and muscle. But true strength includes rest, openness, and support. • Strength in Motion | Live on Thursday, September 11th, 12pm ET

Through guided, gentle movements, you’ll look into how strength shows up in flexibility, balance, and honoring what your body can do today. Leave feeling grounded, capable, and reconnected to your own kind of strength.
