February Checklist

This must-use promotional checklist walks you through exactly what to share, schedule, and promote to drive engagement with your Wellbeing Hub this month, in 10 minutes or less.

Why Tending Matters at work

Early in the year, many employees are focused on getting back into the groove of things—meeting expectations, hitting goals, and keeping up with daily demands. What often gets overlooked is the groundwork required for real growth. Without time to explore ideas, reflect on experiences, or try new approaches, people default to what’s familiar, even when better options are available.

Tending is about creating the conditions where growth can actually happen. It means giving people room to experiment, make sense of their experiences, and learn as they go. In this context, care isn’t about easing discomfort or offering quick reassurance. It’s about paying attention to what’s developing—ideas, skills, relationships—and giving them the time and conditions they need to grow.

Growth—whether it’s building a skill, strengthening a relationship, or finding a better way to work—doesn’t come from rushing or pressure. It comes from attention, curiosity, and the freedom to try, adjust, and try again.

February is a great time for this kind of work. January helped people get grounded through Anchoring; February is where ideas, intentions, and early efforts need care to take root. By focusing on this now, workplaces help employees make the most of the opportunities in front of them and build momentum that supports meaningful growth throughout the year.

Bringing the Theme to Life

  • 💬 Use Check-Ins to Support Growth
Shift the focus beyond energy and workload. Ask questions like: What are you working on growing right now? What needs more attention? What’s one thing you want to try differently this week? These conversations help surface learning and direction.

  • 🌱 Make Space to Try & Adjust
Encourage employees to pause and think: before starting a task, after a meeting, or at the end of the day. These pauses are about noticing what’s working, what isn’t, and what could be adjusted next time.

  • 📝 Share What You’re Working On
Invite team members to briefly name what they’re focused on developing this week, whether that’s a skill, an idea, or a way of working. This builds shared understanding, opens the door for feedback, and helps teams support growth in real time.

  • 🎁 Recognize Effort & Learning
Encourage recognition that names progress, experimentation, or follow-through. Calling out effort and learning reinforces that growth is valued, even when outcomes are still taking shape.

  • 📣 Model Intentional Care From Leadership
Ask leaders to show how they tend to their own growth—blocking time to think, reflecting on decisions, or trying new approaches and learning from them. When leaders model intentional attention to development, it signals that growth is expected, supported, and worth the time.
