The Details

Sip-N-Glo, a Philly smoothie and juice shop, has multiple locations throughout the city. They first opened their doors 2013 when the founder and CEO, Kristen Lubsen, noticed that access to healthy juices and smoothies were limited in Philadelphia.

When you come in to any of their locations, you'll find a mixture of pre-made juices (allowing your body to absorb all the nutrients it needs quickly) and made to order smoothies (containing more fiber and protein with a heavier consistency). The Sip-N-Glo team knows that navigating the health and wellness world can be difficult, so all of the high-quality, locally sourced ingredients they use in their juices are written on the bottle and menu, and the friendly staff is ready and willing to give you all the details and even suggest a combination for you. Susannah, Sip-N-Glo's brand strategist says, “We work on training our staff [because] we want people to feel comfortable coming in and asking questions.”

The Sip-N-Glo team has created an array of different detox programs to help your body hit the reset button.  The goal of a juice detox program is to give your body all the nutrients and vitamins they needs without working the digestive system too hard.  Sip-N-Glo works with nutritionists to build their cleanses and detox programs consisting of 8 drinks and two soups a day. Cleanses range from 1-day to 5+days.  It's important to note that these detox programs are not focused on weight loss, and they actually encourage you to eat if you feel you need to. Their intelligently-designed, thoughtfully sourced cleanses take the planning and pressure away from you to try a detox on your own.

Sip-N-Glo also offers different kinds of "wellness shots". These 1-2 oz concentrated juices serve many different purposes.  The "Immunity Shot" for example, contains immune boosting ingredients including lemon, ginger apple cider vinegar, and elderberry, where as the "Wheatgrass Shot" is a natural energy booster and boasts the ability to replace your need for coffee in the morning. There is also an "Endurance Shot" (beet, lemon, cayenne pepper, maca root extract) that is designed to enhance your pre-workout routine.

This local juice shop strives to make an impact on more than your taste buds. Sip-N-Glo advocates environmental health by using biodegradable products wherever possible and even giving discounts to customers who bring their own cups.  Sip-N-Glo also gives back to their community through their "One Love" smoothie, the proceeds of which go to a different local nonprofit each quarter.  You can even find Sip-N-Glo giving out free juices one day in May to thank the community for all their unwavering support. No matter what your health goals or habits are, Sip-N-Glo is here to make your journey easier and tastier. “We’re really about creating healthy habits for the individual" say Susannah. "We’re not here to dictate whether you drink a smoothie a day, if it’s a smoothie a week that’s feels good, a smoothie a month that feels good, whatever makes the person feel good, we are here to support you.”
